Siamo in una collina delle prealpi venete situata al confine con la pianura. Abbiamo monitorato la fauna presente in questo luogo per circa 6 mesi nel periodo autunno-invernale che si estende da fine settembre 2022 a inizio marzo 2023. Alcune delle specie fototrappolate erano ampiamente attese, mentre altre, come l'istrice (Hystrix cristata), non lo erano affatto. Una delle specie che eravamo quasi certi che fosse presente é il tasso (Meles meles), la cui presenza è largamente accertata in tutto l'areale prealpino. Anche nel territorio in oggetto si sono potuti contare parecchi esemplari, confermando le tipiche abitudini gregarie di questi mustelidi. Essendo un animale principalmente notturno, gli orari in cui esso è più attivo sono le prime ore del mattino (1:00, 2:00); tuttavia nei mesi invernali un presenza non trascurabile è stata osservata anche dalle ore 19:00 alle ore 21:00. La presenza del tasso è rispettivamente del 62.9% rispetto a tutte le altre specie rilevate. Questo è comprensibile se si considera che l'area in oggetto è a basso tasso di predazione per specie come il tasso, specialmente per la totale mancanza di grandi predatori come lupi e orsi. Un altro effetto della mancanza di predatori è la scarsa attitudine dei tassi a seguire il ciclo lunare, che tuttavia viene comunque rispettato grossolanamente. All'arrivo della primavera si è notato un radicale cambiamento dei posti abituali frequentati dai tassi, probabilmente connesso alla variazione stagionale della dieta. Si suppone che si siano avvicinati alle aree pianeggianti, alla ricerca di un maggior quantitativo di biomassa, come ad esempio i lombrichi (Lumbricina).
