Percorrendo una strada molto panoramica si raggiunge il remoto villaggio di pescatori di Gjesvær, 34 km a nord-ovest di Honningsvåg. La tundra ondulata, punteggiata di stagni scuri e renne al pascolo, cede qui il passo a un paesaggio desolato e roccioso, finché all'improvviso si stagliano all'orizzonte alcuni scogli e le Isole Gjesværstappan.
