Nel merito, l'effetto dello sfondo ( per me di importanza prioritaria nelle mie immagini) è legato all'osservanza rigida di distanze: tra soggetto e sfondo e tra soggetto e fotocamera, come tu stesso osservi correttamente nel tuo giudizio.
Al di la del fatto che nel caso in esame la scelta di un formato verticale non sarebbe stata opportuna per gli elementi esterni a quello che vedi racchiusi nell'immagine, personalmente prediligo il formato orizzontale, sia per gusto estetico personale, che per l'esecuzione di multivisioni, dove il susseguirsi di immagini dello stesso formato rendono il lavoro qualitativamente migliore.
