Sh2-142 e Sh2-132 sono due nebulose a emissione situate nella regione di Cefeo OB1, nel Braccio di Perseo della Via Lattea. Sh2-142, chiamata colloquialmente Nebulosa Mago, circonda il giovane ammasso aperto NGC 7380 nella costellazione di Cefeo. Il complesso NGC 7380 si trova ad una distanza di circa 8.500 AL dal Sistema Solare. L'ammasso si estende per circa 20 AL con una forma allungata e una coda estesa. Le stime sull'età vanno da 4 a 12 milioni di anni. Al centro dell'ammasso si trova DH Cephei, un sistema binario costituito da due stelle massicce di tipo O. Questa coppia è la sorgente ionizzante primaria per la regione H II circostante, e sta espellendo il gas e la polvere circostanti mentre innesca la formazione stellare nella regione vicina. Sh2-132, chiamata colloquialmente Nebulosa del Leone, è una grande nebulosa a emissione situata sul piano della Via Lattea a quasi 10400 AL dal Sistema Solare e visibile nella costellazione di Cefeo, a breve distanza dal confine con la Lucertola. Le stelle responsabili della ionizzazione dei suoi gas sono molto calde e massicce; in particolare due stelle Wolf-Rayet (HD 211564 e HD 211853), una stella di classe spettrale O8.5V e una decina di stelle di classe B. Si ritiene che nella nebulosa siano avvenuti in passato processi di formazione stellare; attualmente tali processi risultano sospesi, non essendoci traccia di attività recente.
