Ti seguivo lì nella colonia da diversi anni, ma da 7 ormai, sei qui con me, da quando quella mattina, sul parapetto della chiesa, ti trovai pieno di muchi dalla bocca e dal naso; corsa precipitosa in clinica ed RX immediata, ci diceva che avevi una bruttissima broncopolmonite avanzata...il dottore mi chiese: ci proviamo? il gatto non mangia e non beve più da solo, ha bisogno di flebo con cortisone ed antibiotico mattina e sera...allora? Se la sente di provare? E senza mai esitare, la mia risposta, fu una sola: Allora che?! Muoviamoci senza perder tempo! E così, per 15 interminabili giorni. Ma Tu già mi aspettavi, mi correvi incontro, mi abbracciavi con lo sguardo e con quelle meravigliose zampette afferrandomi le caviglie quando Ti ritrovavo... mi avevi già scelto ed io non lo sapevo! Quando andavo via in macchina, dopo essermi assicurato che tutti voi aveste avuto la propria razione quotidiana, Tu, mi rincorrevi dietro come un cavallo al trotto per decine e decine di metri, ma io non lo sapevo! Quando mi fu riferita questa Tua voglia incondizionata di stare con me, la scelta, dopo la guarigione poteva essere e doveva essere una ed una soltanto: DOVEVI RESTARE CON ME. Grazie dell'infinito affetto e dell'amore che mi stai donando giorno per giorno, nonostante gli anni che corrono...anche per Te! Grazie Tigro".
