Vi racconto una storia vera che accadde tanti anni fa! La guerra era terminata da poco, noi paesani ci preparavamo a festeggiare la Madonna del Carmine il 15/16 luglio. Avevo compiuto da poco quattro anni e mentre scendevo dal vicolo, mi ripetevo: ho quattro anni! Mi sentivo un piccolo uomo. Piu giù incontrai un signore ben vestito, con Borsalino e dal gilet, pendeva una catena d'oro: Aveva una pancia importante che confermava la sua condizione sociale. Carico di me, lo fermo e gli dico: la vedi quella casa lassù? C'è mio padre e mia mamma, fatti dare qualcosa da mangiare. Mi guardò sorpreso e sorridente, mise la mano in tasca e mi diede due monete da 10 lire, con bonomia mi disse: vatti a comprare il gelato. In Piazza era arrivato il gelataio Mitruccio con la moglie. Aveva un grande furgone azzurro. Tutta la carrozzeria era dipinta con invitanti gelati. Vicino al furgone incontrai la mia compagna di asilo Doretta. Posai con forza le monete dicendo: per favore due gelati uno per me uno per Doretta! Ora siamo nonni abbondanti e quando la rivedo mi abbraccia e festeggiamo. Bella Vita!
