La galassia di Andromeda (M31) ripresa dai cieli sardi col Celestron RASA da 20cm di diametro e Focale da 400mm a f/2. La luce catturata in questa foto è vecchia di circa due milioni e mezzo di anni, ricadendo quindi, con le dovute approssimazioni, nel Pleistocene in un periodo in cui sostanzialmente l'uomo iniziava a calpestare la terra. L'immagine è il risultato di diverse sessioni di ripresa, e dell'integrazione di circa 30 scatti da 30 secondi per il nucleo e circa 40 scatti da 120 secondi in banda larga e banda stretta per i bracci della galassia. La particolare forma degli spike stellari è dovuta alla posizione non perfetta dei cavi frontali della camera di ripresa.

Superb image of m31 with excellent description that completes it. Excellent colors and saturation. For the shape of the spikes perhaps it could be remedied with a flat cable that obstructs as little as possible. This is probably the major drawback of this lens that provides stellar point images that are then "disturbed" by the CCD cables.

For spikes I actually solved it simply with a 3d printed cable router like this:

This way the spikes are no longer visible.
The fact is that most of the shots of this M31 come from capture sessions for which I had not yet made this contraption.
