Ho scattato questa foto con una Canon T90, ob. FD 300 f 4.0 in un villaggio in prossimità di Ghanzi, in Botswana, dove riuscimmo ad entrare solo grazie ad una lauta mancia data al militare che ci scortava e al mio tesserino di biologo (forse). Vedere questi nomadi, costretti alla sedentarietà dalla politica di "reinsediamento", fu molto triste. Sono stati costretti a insediarsi stabilmente in piccoli e squallidi villaggi per non disturbare turisti e cacciatori impegnati in safari e tornei, per non intralciare lo sfruttamento minerario del ricchissimo sottosuolo sudafricano. Inoltre i grandi allevamenti di bovini, con le loro recinzioni, hanno modificato il percorso degli animali selvatici impedendo a questi fieri cacciatori di seguirli nei loro spostamenti. "Finché sono stati liberi di vagare nel deserto, i Boscimani sono rimasti assolutamente fedeli alla vita, ne hanno compreso l'unicità e non sono rimasti impantanati nella palude del possesso" cit.
