17.11.2015 Ngorongoro C.A., Tanzania. Stavamo rientrando al nostro campsite in direzione Lerai ascent road, prima di raggiungere la piccola foresta in cerca del Rinoceronte nero, l'aria si impregnò di un forte odore di sangue. Inizialmente avvistammo una coppia di sciacalli dorati, poi altri tre, poi ancora due iene maculate isolate...poco più avanti l'odore divenne sempre più forte e davanti alla nostra jeep ci ritrovammo un intero branco di iene maculate composto da circa 15/20 soggetti intenti a suddividersi una zebra catturata da poco. Questo documento è tipico solo della Ngorongoro C.A., le iene infatti in quest'area cacciano in gruppo prede di notevoli dimensioni e non sono dipendenti dalla caccia di altri predatori come i leoni. Siamo rimasti senza parole e senza 'scattare' per alcuni secondi, trovandoci di fronte ad una scena di natura vera e unica nel suo genere. Molto, molto emozionati...molti molti ricordi. #wild #safari
