Vi mostrerò e vi descriverò la pianta con due tipi di cisto ovvero: il Cistus salviifolius (bianco) e il Cistus creticus ( più scuro che richiama il violetto chiaro) ospitante un affascinante falena con abitudine diurna che prende il nome di Adscita sp.� Il suo nome deriva dal greco “kystis”, che significa vescichetta (forma delle capsule seminali) Fiorisce da aprile a maggio, fruttificando entro l'inizio dell'estate, da esse si estrae una sostanza resinosa chiamata (ladano) usata come incenso. Queste due specie di cisto svolgono un compito importante, proteggondo il suolo da forti erosioni e dai dissesti idro-geologici.
