La foto è stata scattata durante la recente manifestazione tenutasi ad aprile a Pescara contro l'intenzione del governo di far diventare l'Abruzzo una regione petrolifera. Insieme a tante altre è stata recentemente rilasciata autorizzazione per l'installazione a soli 5 km dalla "Costa dei Trabocchi" di una piattaforma petrolifera con annessa raffineria galleggiante. La costa abruzzese da Pescara in giù è costituita da macchia mediterranea, è pressochè intatta e di recente è stata dichiarata, per quasi la sua interezza, parco costiero. Quella che vedete è la rappresentazione della morte di ogni aspirazione di sviluppo sostenibile di questa stupenda regione, proprio come il petrolio.
