Hemaris tithyus: Appare in maggio e giugno ed è un vivace volatore diurno (a differenza della maggior parte degli altri sfingidi), generalmente attivo da metà mattina a metà pomeriggio. Frequenta boschi paludosi e brughiere umide e ha un'ampia distribuzione nell'Europa temperata e nell'Asia occidentale, ma è generalmente piuttosto scarsa. Si distingue da H. fuciformis per la stretta fascia di scaglie lungo il margine esterno dell'ala e per la cellula discale indivisa dell'ala anteriore. Ha un'apertura alare di 40-50 millimetri
