L'Ophrys bertolonii è presente in Calabria con la sottospecie nominale, nota anche come Ophrys romolinii. Fiorisce da aprile a maggio inoltrato in zone collinari, difficilmente si spinge oltre gli 800 metri; presenta un aspetto tipico e costante, con una cavità stigmatica molto allungata (come si può notare in foto) che la differenzia da altre sottospecie/specie italiane (bertoloniiformis, explanata, benacensis). Si presta spesso all'ibridazione con altre specie, alcuni di questi ibridi sono presenti nelle mie gallerie (Ophrys x inzengae, Ophrys x lyrata, Ophrys x grottagliensis) e altri verranno aggiunti presto. Con questa galleria vorrei creare una serie di immagini dal titolo "futuristico" in cui presento dei veri e propri modelli per la specie in questione; intendo sviluppare una serie di primi piani ben dettagliati di ogni pianta con uno sfondo il più possibile piacevole e uniforme.
