Anche senza la sua raccomandazione, comunque, non ci saremmo mossi perché eravamo consapevoli della presenza di leoni nel campo, che non è recintato. Li avevamo visti in avvicinamento mentre, qualche ora prima, rientravamo dal nostro giro. E tutta la notte avevano “cantato”, come poeticamente dice Samwel, intorno alla nostra tenda, l'unica occupata in quel periodo. Certo, le tende dei campi del Serengeti sono spesse e robuste, ma in fondo pur sempre di tende si tratta… Il “via libera” ci viene dato alle cinque del mattino, quando i nove (!!!) leoni vengono accompagnati fuori dal campo dalle jeep dello staff. Albeggia appena. Faccio qualche scatto praticamente al buio, mentre il gruppo si allontana. Giusto per poter rivivere quell'emozione.
