L'Anacamptis papilionacea è una specie abbastanza comune a distribuzione mediterranea, più diffusa nelle regioni del Sud Italia rispetto a quelle del nord. I colori, il portamento e la forma le sono valsi il nome di "orchidea farfalla". Si può rinvenire in diversi ambienti da fine febbraio a maggio, dal pieno sole all'ombra non troppo fitta, forma spesso ibridi con la congenere Anacamptis morio. Nella parte sud della provincia di Reggio è presente con la sottospecie nominale, mostrata in foto, e con la sottospecie/varietà "grandiflora" con labello più ampio e striato e fioritura tardiva. Con questa galleria vorrei creare una serie di immagini dal titolo "futuristico" in cui presento dei veri e propri modelli per la specie in questione; intendo sviluppare una serie di primi piani ben dettagliati di ogni pianta con uno sfondo il più possibile piacevole e uniforme.
