Ex-discoteca Woodpecker (Milano Marittima). Cito dal sito "Ascosi Lasciti": "Negli anni '50 il Woodpecker era situato in centro a Milano Marittima. Questo locale abbandonato era un posto parecchio in voga nella movida, ma con l'aumento della popolarità crescevano a dismisura anche le lamentele degli abitanti stufi dall'alto volume della musica suonata fino a tarda notte. I proprietari si videro costretti a spostare il locale abbandonato, decidendo di costruire nel bel mezzo del nulla una nuova futuristica discoteca lontana dalle zone residenziali. Per farvi capire quanto erano visionari vi era anche l'intenzione di fare nuotare nell'acqua dei coccodrilli… Sicuramente molto scenico, ma forse eccessivamente azzardata come idea! Il “nuovo” Woodpecker venne inaugurato nel 1968, ma la sua storia non durò a lungo; infatti solo sette anni più tardi ci fu il terribile incendio che ne sancì la chiusura, così questa struttura aliena rimase abbandonata tra gli alberi per tanti anni. La cupola in vetroresina catturò l'attenzione di Blu (uno dei più famosi street artist a livello mondiale) che omaggiò l'interno della volta con una sua opera." Ora il complesso è in stato di riqualificazione, cito da "Il resto del carlino": "L'idea presentata – e risultata vincente – è quella di un luogo multifunzionale. Vocato alla creatività, il nuovo Woodpecker unirà i due elementi tipici: la cupola storica e l'ambiente naturale circostante - che sono gli stessi tratti che rendono affascinante e complesso al contempo il locale."
