Maternal great-grandparents 1890 sent on April 16, 2023 (10:27) by Lino Freelance. 29 comments, 998 views. [retina]

, 1/60 f/8.0, ISO 200, tripod. Napoli, Italy.

Photos of another era that from the history described has in common with ours the worst traits. I love images from other times because they not only represent important historical documents, they show cultural or social changes, but they also have within them personal stories of a certain depth, like the one you told us. I had also started to share small prints symbol of historical crossings but then I thought it was better to keep them in my box of memories.
Your work is great as always and the image also looks well preserved.
See you soon

an infinite thank you for visiting this memory of mine,
which as for Fabio, surprises me the state of conservation,
perhaps because it is considered with the heart, one of the truest memories, beautiful and felt by the
protagonists first and then by the heirs.
A warm greeting and delicious Sunday to all of you.
@Fabio: I had tried with the 2760, but in every way tried, it went deep into the worn paper, and the result
was not acceptable; in macro shooting I bypassed the depth of imperfections,
and I liked the result, but I still preferred to leave the most obvious scratches,
just not to make it artificial unnecessarily. ;-)

This double portrait is rich in an almost alchemical photographic flavor, yet still alive.
The recovery of ancient shots strengthens the link with history, small and great, of places, memories, emotions. The risk that we all run today, lost in a digital ocean, is a guilty amnesia that excludes us from a story started by our fathers, their fathers and so on.
The story you then tell is magnetically fascinating, full of concrete affection and pride, as it should be.
Excellent proposition.
:-)

Antonio
Stefania

Massimo Jo
honored and very happy for your recognition to this proposal ...
... It fills me with pride!
It seemed right to me, as a faithful lover of this wonderful art, which embraces history, science, and which has since become a real universal language, to transmit and share with you, an infinity of emotions that literally vibrated in my hands, when I pulled it out of the box of memories!
The ephemeral conviction then, that an immense digital ocean can contain all our past, will leave us all, without the shadow of a memory ... but above all, without the shadow of "an emotion"!
unfortunately.
Thanks again and a warm greeting to all of you.
