Una delle sale più belle del palazzo, che prende il nome dagli innumerevoli gigli che ne adornano le pareti, che in questo caso non richiamano direttamente il giglio fiorentino, ma il fleur de lys della corona di Francia, in omaggio alla dinastia d'Angiò protettrice a quei tempi di Firenze. La sala si fregia di uno splendido soffitto a cassettoni, degli affreschi a parete di Domenico Ghirlandaio, oltre che di uno dei capolavori riconosciuti di Donatello, la statua bronzea di “Giuditta e Oloferne”. Questa parete era infatti la parete esterna di Palazzo Vecchio prima dell'aggiunta della fine del XV secolo. Dalla Sala dei Gigli tramite queste antiche finestre si accede sia alla Cancelleria sia alla Sala delle Mappe o delle Carte Geografiche.
