Poplar woods are a characteristic crop in the Po floodplain; despite their schematic nature they are always a fascinating subject for me! I find that the best times are in spring, when the young translucent leaves glow yellow against the light and in winter with fog (increasingly rare, alas!). The top? With the flood of the river! :-P
