Carlos Sainz Cenamor… spagnolo classe 1962… è stato un pilota nei Rally dove vinse il Campionato del Mondo nel 1990 e nel 1992 a bordo di vetture Toyota Celica. Abbandonati i Rally tradizionali passò ai Rally Raid dove si è aggiudicato 3 edizioni della Dakar: nel 2010 su Volkswagen Race Touareg, nel 2018 su Peugeot 3008 e nel 2020 su Mini John Cooper Works Buggy. Suo figlio… Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro… noto come Carlos Sainz Jr… è pure lui un pilota… ma da velocità in pista. Nato nel 1994 inizia a guidare i Kart all' inizio degli anni 2000 e nel 2009 si aggiudica la Junior Monaco Kart Cup sul Circuito di Montecarlo. Dal 2010 inizia a condurre vetture a ruote scoperte e dopo aver partecipato alla Formula BMW Europea, nel 2011 si aggiudica l' Europa Formula Renault 2 Litri. Passa poi alla Formula 3 Europa nel 2012 e nel seguente anno alla Formula V8 3,5 Litri dove nel 2014 si aggiudica il Campionato. Approda in Formula 1 nel 2015 al volante di una Toro Rosso STR 10 motorizzata Renault dove rimane fino al 2017… anno in cui però gareggerà gli ultimi 4 Gran Premi a bordo di una Renault R. S. 17 dove rimarrà pure l' anno seguente. Nel biennio 2019-2020 sarà alla conduzione di vetture McLaren mentre nell' anno successivo entrerà a far parte della Scuderia Ferrari dove è confermato fino al termine dell' anno 2014. Gareggia con il n. 55. In questa fotografia si vede Carlos Jr. impegnato presso il Circuito di Fiorano Modenese (Mo)… la pista privata della Ferrari… dove nella giornata di mercoledì 15 febbraio 2023… avvolta da una leggera foschia… fu effettuato il Filming Day dedicato alla Ferrari SF 23… che poté così percorrere 100 chilometri precampionato come da Regolamento stabilito dalla Federazione.
