La chiesa più famosa di Barcellona è senza ombra di dubbio la Sagrada Famiglia. C'è però una "vecchia signora" al centro del quartiere gotico resa famosa dai romanzi di Idelfonso Falcones. E' una basilica Gotica del 1300 considerata la chiesa dei marinai per la sua ubicazione e per il contributo dato dai lavoratori portuali dell'epoca alla sua edificazione. Se all'interno della Sagrada Famiglia si rimane a bocca aperta per i capolavori architettonici ideati da Gaudì, qui si può respirare la storia più antica di Barcellona e probabilmente la più autentica. Purtroppo, come tutte le orgogliose signore di una certa età, anche Santa Maria del Mar richiede continui restauri e al suo interno sono edificate svariate impalcature che non permettono delle inquadrature d'insieme. Ad ogni modo spero che questo scorcio renda l'idea. :)
