1/100 ISO 500, tripod. Montagnana, Italy.

hello Daniel needless to say the spectacularity of the photos, I recently bought the daystar solar scout , I'm trying,
since there are few fans of solar photography and you are very advanced I want to ask you some things : changing tuning on the filter is normal that the photos are all red? I saw that you stack with Planerary System Stacker , Is it easy to install and work with? thanks
gianmario
ps do you think it is better in the morning or in the evening?

Hello Gianmario,
sorry for the delay but I'm in a very busy period.
Yes, if you change the tuning you can lose the H-alpha signal and at least even completely lose the details. I suggest you try to scan because each specimen has a slightly different tuning.
For the time I think it is better when the sun is as high as possible, so around noon. It is true that there could be more turbulence due to the heat, but wins the fact that being the sun high then the line of sight from the tele to the sun crosses a much smaller portion of the atmosphere (among other things this rule also applies to the moon and planets)

ciao,Daniele

hello, I wanted to ask you if you at the beginning had difficulty in focusing, I'm having difficulty because not having reference points on the tube just can not ( is normal that rotates the tube in focus ?)

Yes and normal that rotates the tube. Try to focus first using the edge of the sun as a reference and then for the finest focus a bump increasing the exposure
