Dal rifugio a quota 1500 slm ci incamminiamo in piena notte al seguito della nostra fidatissima guida CAI con obiettivo le pendici del Monte Meta a quota 2242 slm in pieno Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo. A guidarci nel buio della notte è il richiamo del maschio adulto in amore: il suo bramito riecheggia tra i monti e tiene viva la nostra attenzione, alimentando il desiderio dell'incontro ravvicinato. Alle prime luci dell'alba ci troviamo lungo il fianco del Monte Meta ma lontani dalla vetta quando all'improvviso su una delle creste laterali siamo richiamati dal corteggiamento di uno splendido maschio dal palco prorompente che si sgola nel tentativo di chiamare a sé la sua bella. Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo.
