Limenitis reducta, Staudinger, 1901 - Famiglia Nymphalidae - Sottofamiglia Limenitidinae - Apertura alare: Da 3,7 a 5,5 cm. - Distribuzione in Italia: Presente in tutte le regioni, isole comprese. Habitat; Boschi chiari, radure e cespuglieti dal livello del mare sino a 1300 m. - Periodo di volo: Polivoltina con tre generazioni che si susseguono, sovrapponendosi da maggio a metà settembre. - Pianta alimentare dei bruchi: Varie specie del genere Lonicera tra cui L. periclymenum, L. xylostemum, L. etrusca, L. implexa, ecc. - Dimorfismo sessuale: Femmina simile, ma di dimensioni leggermente maggiori e con macchie bianche più grandi. - Specie simili: Limenitis camilla che è opaca e marrone, non presenta sul diritto delle ali i riflessi turchini propri della L.reducta. La macchia bianca tra le due nervature cubitali in L.reducta è spostata verso l'esterno. Il rovescio delle ali posteriori ha una colorazione diversa nelle due specie, ma il carattere più evidente è la serie dei punti neri premarginali che in L. reducta è unica, mentre in L. camilla è doppia.
