38 stacked natural light exposures at ISO 100 of a nice little weevil.

Photographed on 07.06.2012.

Equipment: Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Carl Zeiss Luminar 63/4.5 lens and Nikon PB-6 bellows.

Carl makes some great lenses, but you must have a nice handle to use them. Congratulations, every shot is magic.

hello cristian. you made a new purchase? the luminaries? how do you feel? happen when a chance I'll take 'is a bomb. great photo to taste less light from above. hello

Thank you Francesco!

Thanks Flavio! No, this is an older stack made in 2012. I sold the Luminar lens a while ago, I had too many contrast problems with my model. The lens handles very well in the field because it is extremely compact and has a large working distance but regarding performance there are better and cheaper alternatives (Schneider Kreuznach APO Componon HM 60/4). ;-)

If you want to try a new setup with higher magnification lens I would suggest an Olympus 65-116 telescopic tube + Schneider Kreuznach APO Componon HM 60/4. A splendid combination! You could get it for around 350 Euros on eBay if you have patience.

Regarding this image: yes, the light diffusion is not optimal.

thanks cristian. I in fact noticed an improvement of the images with regard to the contrast and perhaps depends precisely by the use of COMPONON. a greeting
