Brice Canyon national park, si trova in Utah, a sud ovest, sulla statale 63. In questo territorio vivono i Paiute e loro e` la leggenda dei Legend People che rende questo posto ancora piu` speciale: - Prima degli umani, in questi luoghi vivevano “The Legend People” (To-when-an-ung-wa). Erano molti ed erano molte cose; uccelli, animali, lucertole e cose simili, ma apparivano come persone. Essi non erano persone ma avevano il potere di apparire come tali. Per qualche motive “the legend people” erano cattivi; hanno fatto qualcosa che non andava bene, forse una rissa, forse qualcuno ha rubato qualcosa… il racconto tramandato non e` chiaro. Siccome erano cattivi, lo spirito di Coyote li ha tramutati in roccia. Adesso e` possibile vederli tramutati in roccia. – Questa e` la storia… the People tell. Il nome di questo luogo infatti e` “Angka-ku-wass-a-wits” (volti dipinti di rosso).
