Avendo la fortuna di abitare abbastanza vicino a Firenze, ad Arezzo, ed avendo due figli che lavorano e vivono a Firenze per le università della città, mi è facile andare a scoprire la Firenze più "segreta" quella al di fuori dei classici itinerari turistici di massa. Un'escursione interessante dalla mattina alla sera partendo da Firenze è la città etrusca di Fiesole, situata su di un colle, da cui si gode di una splendida vista mozzafiato sulla Culla del Rinascimento, il cui centro storico dista solo 20 minuti di autobus. La veduta panoramica migliore la si può avere lungo la salita fino al Monastero di San Francesco, sulla cresta della collina più alta del centro di Fiesole. Questa piccola cittadina, che sovrasta il fiume Arno e Firenze, vanta un passato ricco di artisti famosi ed inventori, come Mino da Fiesole e Leonardo da Vinci, seguiti da personaggi come Frank Lloyd Wright ed Albert Einstein.
