Credo che questa immagine possa definirsi unica. Conoscendo infatti le abitudini ed i comportamenti delle mantidi, dubito che una scena simile possa essere stata osservata da altre persone. L'immagine proposta è tale e quale come vista in natura: non c'è stato da parte mia alcun intervento atto a modificare la situazione trovata sul campo. Il piccolo bruco che interferisce inconsapevolmente nell'accoppiamento tra due mantidi, scambiandole evidentemente per una specie erbacea, non si è evidentemente reso conto del rischio corso. Per sua fortuna le mantidi l'hanno ignorato: lui ha continuato il suo percorso passeggiando sul corpo di entrambe, per poi ridiscendere dallo stecco su cui era precedentemente salito. Probabilmente il maschio di mantide era troppo concentrato in altre piacevoli faccende,mentre la femmina era, forse, consapevole di aver a disposizione a breve, volendo, un pasto anche più succulento di quello che avrebbe potuto offrirle il bruco. Non so se il maschio della mantide abbia avuto uguale fortuna del bruco, perché non ho avuto la pazienza di assistere fino alla fine dell'accoppiamento, ma la storia, almeno in parte, ha avuto un lieto fine.
