La saletta che ospita le macine, racconta nella pietra e nel legno il passato del mulino. Dai registri trovati risulta che le persone arrivavano qui da tutto il circondario, lasciavano il grano da macinare, dopodiché attendevano fino a quando non giungeva il momento di ritirare la farina. Il prodotto finito veniva registrato, per regolarizzare i pagamenti. Grazie a tutti, il seguito nel primo commento.

Molin di Bucchio, di proprietà privata, è il primo mulino che s'incontra nel fiume Arno. Sin dal Medioevo questa zona è stata segnata dalla presenza di opifici idraulici controllati molto probabilmente dalla famiglia feudale dei conti Guidi. Oltre all'attività di molitura portata avanti per secoli dalla famiglia Bucchi, la località è stata anche sede di un'importante troticoltura. Il mulino ha funzionato regolarmente fino al 1955 e saltuariamente fino al 1960. L'ultimo mugnaio è stato Pietro Bucchi detto “Pietrone”. Nel mulino sono presenti ancora tutte le attrezzature (pale orizzontali, tramogge, macine e tanto altro) nel battente di una finestra c'è ancora un suo graffito.



Nella prima sala sono esposte le scarpe che venivano utilizzate per togliere la buccia alle castagne, dopo che queste avevano subito il processo di essiccazione, nella vicino essiccatoio.



Non dobbiamo dimenticare, infatti, che l'economia delle genti del Casentino, è sempre stata legata alla castagna. Una volta pronte, le castagne venivano macinate e trasformate in farina, primaria fonte di sussistenza.
In mostra ci sono oggetti dedicati ai buoi, gioghi e museruole, occorrente per le bestie da tiro, qui la strada un tempo era un piccolo sentiero e l'unico metodo per arrivare era il carro trainato dai buoi, con sopra il suo prezioso carico da trasformare in farine.
