Ciao Lauro,  quando ho detto il picchio che nonpicchia mi riferivo al fatto che il muratore non fa parte della famiglia dei picchi (picidae) ma è un passeriforme e pertanto non buca il legno degli alberi né per fare i fori di alimentazione né per il nido che fa nelle fessure già aperte.
Si nutre d'insetti nella bella stagione mentre per il resto dell'anno si serve del becco molto resistente, quasi come quello dei veri picchi, per aprire noci di cui é ghiotto. Proprio il battere sulle noci (la traduzione del suo nome inglese é colpitore di noci) gli ha dato l'appellativo di picchio.....dunque picchia come hai detto tu ma é un picchiettare del tutto diverso.

Hello Lauro,:-P when I said that the woodpecker nonpicchia I was referring to the fact that the builder is not part of the family of peaks (picidae) but it is a passerine and therefore does not pit the wood of trees or to make holes cord or for the nest that is already open in the cracks.
It feeds on insects in summer while the rest of the year you need the beak very durable, almost like that of the true peak, which is to open nuts greedy. Just the beat on nuts (the English translation of his name is hitters nuts) gave him the nickname of woodpecker ..... therefore beats like you said, it is a completely different pat.
