A dream came true: I've finally managed to photograph the bug of my childhood - the common cockchafer, Melolontha melolontha - Melolontha - Scarabaeidae. I remember waiting for them each spring, quite some buzz it was!
I've found this large specimen yesterday morning flying close to the ground. Not an usual thing since those beetles are nocturnal. Once it settled down, I've put it on that branch where is stayed for a couple of minutes... just enough to complete a stack. Not the best work but I must be happy!
Stack info: Canon 5D Mark II, Canon MP-E 65 lens.
21 natural light exposures at f5.6, ISO 200.
Magnification: 1X
