“A piscaria” – in dialetto siciliano – è l'antico mercato del pesce di Catania. Situata nel cuore della città etnea, ci si può accedere passando da porta Uzeda, se da Sud, da piazza Duomo direttamente se da Nord. Si trova alle spalle della fontana dell'Amenano, conosciuta anche come “Acqua o linzolu”. La pescheria di Catania, però, non è un semplice mercato, è un vero e proprio percorso esperienziale. Il mercato del pesce etneo si sveglia alle 5 del mattino e si addormenta subito dopo l'orario di pranzo, quando gli ultimi pescatori smontano i banconi e lavano il marciapiede. La domenica è l'unico giorno di chiusura del mercato. |
