Ignoranti.

Dearest Paul, your calculations leave no room for interpretation. I have also made some similar considerations here in the past discovering that the forum does not like "technical dissertations". Yet I believe that the evidence of numbers is worth a thousand words. But that's how the world goes. I do not know much about naval engines, I will deepen, I guess they are also two-stroke engines? (with the discharge phase that also brings with it a charge not yet burned) or at least once on machine books so it read.
And I have no hope for future improvement, I share your last bitter lines.
As always brilliant. A hug

Beautiful photo but above all very interesting caption that makes you think and not a little on the theme pollution. A theme that, despite the continuous discussion, does not find room for feasible solutions. Greetings and congratulations.

A great truth to share, waiting for something to change .....

Nice picture. All true what you expose in the considerations, if then to cruise ships we add container ships, supertankers and, why not, planes engaged in moving ever larger masses of people and goods, you realize that the obsession with poor cars is often just a smokescreen behind which hide the people who should decide for the best for society.
Carlo
p.s. the tanks then must be cleaned periodically ...

Bravo Paolo for the "precious" caption that opens eyes and minds on the environmental damage that passes in silence, in the name of a mass tourism that pollutes enormously, but does not "appear" ....

Unfortunately fashion the desire to show off cars scooters green bicycles do not think about what is hidden behind an electric car and the day when you will have to dispose of everything
I can not enter the city with a euro 5 and planes ships and anything else burns tons of diesel without counting the situation in Venice

Paul, we all owe you a thank you for your observations and for the amazing calculations you rattled off :-/ In the last week I read a news and I listened to another, hoping that they are not two hoaxes, I read about a Covid epidemic with 800 infected, for second they spoke on the radio of cruise ships of the future with hydrogen engines. Unfortunately these cruises are of great attraction and charm for tourists, I personally would feel like a lion in a cage and I do not share all this consumption and pollution. For the opening of the
eyes on the climate problem I do not think that anything good will come out of it, we are too many (we have broken through the threshold of 8 billion) and too busy consuming the energy that our planet offers us despite everything.
Thanks again for the beautiful caption and the excellent photo document in bel
b.n.Ciao Claudio

Gianfranco,

Loris,G.o.F.,

thank you for the ride.
A cordial greeting.
Paolo
P.S. Loris, you touched on the real and only problem. This small planet can no longer stand the "overload" of greedy and unconscious parasites currently present. It's a topic on which I've written a lot for years (and some friends, in the forum, know it well)

My compliments Paul for the photo but especially for what you wrote. Human selfishness is destroying the most beautiful planet in the universe. But I do not resign myself because I have five grandchildren and I hope for divine mercy!
Best regards,
Giorgio

I hope in young people....
