Congratulations Gigi, always beautiful your macro orchids.
How do you combine the two shots with different aperture?
In macro even small animals I have always done single shot for practicality.
With the 90mm sony I do not always feel good because I do not really like the rendering of the background with closed apertures and in the end I often use the 200mm nikon that is better being longer :-D

There is no doubt about who is in charge. 8-)
Too beautiful. :-)
But you make me too impatient for the return of spring. :-D

Thank you all :-D
@Marco: I use two layers on Photoshop, in one I select the subject for the most closed aperture (therefore more in focus and sharper) and the other below serves for the background. There is some work to be done for focus breathing, in fact I am thinking of various ways to refine this technique I
was also thinking as soon as I have time to do some articles about orchids and in particular the methods of shooting and editing (where necessary)

Interesting this technique, to try. I imagine that the absence of wind is even more fundamental than the focus stacking for its correct and simple execution.

Bravo Gigi, congratulations for the beauties that you propose

Thank you!
@Roberto actually need much less shots to get good results (2-3), for example for this image I think it would have taken about 5-6 shots to have the same detail on the Ophrys and the same background

A wonderful macro in its realization.
Suggestive colors and overall effect at the top.
Really congratulations, Giacomo.

A fortunate combination of light subject and (for once) absence of wind :-D Thank you

Thank you very much :-) I'm sure I didn't think about it first, someone will already be using it for some time, but I'm surprised that there are not so many examples of this approach (at least not explicit) around

It does not seem but I am passionate about spontaneous orchids that unfortunately because of a large infestation of ticks arrived a few years ago prevents me from going for clearings when it is the flowering period, apart from my chatter I find this image of yours wonderful, for me from EP. Hats off. HELLO

Also here they are a problem in some places, to photograph the lacaitae I found about a hundred on clothes. Fortunately, none on the skin :-D

Last June I was in the Venetian Prealps (Lessinia), an area apparently sadly famous for the presence of ticks. I was lucky, I didn't see any. :-D

Hello Gigi, always to admire your orchids and this in a particular way, excellent sharpness on the flowers, the composition and the beautiful gradient that does not detract from the subject. Many compliments, hello Fabrizio.
