Il cervo sardo (Cervus elaphus corsicanus) o cervo corso è una sottospecie endemica sardo-corsa del cervo europeo (Cervus elaphus) . Su tutto il territorio dell'Isola sono presenti numerose colonie di cervo sardo. Le sue dimensioni sono inferiori rispetto a quelle del cervo europeo: il maschio raramente raggiunge un peso di 130 kg con un'altezza di 100 cm mentre la femmina non supera i 70-80 kg di peso e gli 80 cm di altezza. Il corpo è snello ed elegante con tronco allungato, spalla arrotondata e muscolosa, petto largo e groppa dritta. Il collo è lungo e sottile, la testa è di forma triangolare allungata e termina con un muso nudo. Le orecchie sono molto grandi, gli occhi sono ovali, grandi ed espressivi, con evidenti fosse lacrimali. Da queste viene secreto un liquido oleoso ed odoroso che serve per marcare il territorio.
