Il mirto è una pianta aromatica appartenente alla macchia mediterranea. Dalle sue bacche viene prodotto un tipico liquore della Sardegna,il mirto appunto,che è un ottimo digestivo . Anche le foglie vengono spesso utilizzate in cucina sopratutto per aromatizzare carni cotte alla brace come il famosissimo porceddu. Nella foto le bacche sono ancora acerbe.Raggiungeranno la piena maturazione tra fine novembre e gennaio.
