Sul lato est del Sengio Alto..piccola catena montuosa tra Campogrosso e passo Pian delle Fugazze, nel lontano 1956, ai primi di settembre un piccolo pulmino, un "Leoncino", percorreva la strada asfaltata detta "Strada del Re", pioveva e il vetro si appannò, l'autista fermò il pulmino per pulirlo dal gelo che si era fatto all'esterno e, pur avendo frenato col freno a mano, per via della pendenza e del "gelicidio" che si era creato col contatto della pioggia sulla strada gelata, orrore... il pulmino iniziò a scivolare, nulla riuscì a fermare quel terribile evento e il corrierino fini giù nella ripidissima scarpata per 400 metri, pochissimi i sopravvissuti che, grazie alle prime trasfusioni prontamente organizzate dall'Avis e dai volontari di Schio, poterono salvarsi. Ho ripercorso a piedi quella strada che da "bocia" ho fatto alcune volte col "maggiolino"...ormai da anni era chiusa al transito e non più manutenuta, una grossa frana anni orsono se ne è portata via addirittura un tratto. Il Comune di Valli del Pasubio ha permesso la costruzione di questo "ponte tibetano" in acciaio per permettere la continuità alla ormai passeggiata, dedicandolo all'Avis e a ricordo del tragico evento. Luoghi bellissimi, impervi e passeggiate di rara bellezza.
