La colonnetta della foto è uno degli elementi, forse unici nel loro genere, più caratteristici della Lessinia. Risalgono al periodo fra il 600 ed il 700 e venivano scolpite e collocate lungo le vie principali di transito (da cui il titolo) con funzione segnaletica. Si usava pietra locale, ovvero calcare ammonitico bianco o rosso, e l'edicola (ciò che volgarmente si chiama "capitello") è quasi sempre pentagonale e raffigurante scene e soggetti religiosi. In molti casi si nota una evidente levigatura dei contorni dovuta "all'usanza" delle mucche di strofinarsi mentre sono al pascolo. Mi sembra interessante e spero catturi il vostro riscontro.
