Un' escursione indimenticabile . Itinerario impegnativo ma di difficoltà escursionistiche che permette di raggiungere un angolo di paradiso. Purtroppo nei mesi estivi la splendida Cala Is Puligi de Nie è presa d'assalto dai barconi che vomitano turisti in spiaggia a ritmi infernali. I due nomi della cala sono interessanti . Il primo Is Puligi de Nie pare voglia dire "piccoli fiocchi di neve", riferito ai minuscoli sassolini bianchi della spiaggia. Il nome Mariolu (termine dei pescatori di Ponza che qui operavano) pare derivi dal fatto che i pescatori depositavano qui il pescato, ma quando tornavano non lo trovavano quasi più. Credevano fossero dei ladri e invece scoprirono poi che erano le foche monache che glieli mangiavano. Il sentiero è stato creato per poter portare al mare il carbone prodotto nelle varie carbonaie che si incontrano nella discesa. Da Baunei seguire le indicazioni per Chiesa S.Pietro/Golgo. Superato il bivio per la chiesa (la strada è sterrata) e oltrepassato il bivio per il Nuraghe Orgoduri girate a destra in direzione Is Puligi de Nie, cartello in legno. Proseguite su fondo pietroso fino ad un evidente spiazzo con ovile sulla destra. Potreste anche andare oltre ma più avanti c'è posto solo per una macchina. Da Golgo seguire la sterrata verso nord a destra. Seguire la strada in direzione N/NE in leggera salita fino ad un ampio spazio sterrato di nome Piredda. Prendere il non evidentissimo sentiero sulla destra (ometto) per 5 minuti. Il sentiero-strada dei pastori prosegue dritto, per noi occorre prendere a destra: ometto, pietra bianca su muretto e segni evidenti di passaggio sulle roccette. Questo bivio è caratterizzato dalla presenza sulla sinistra di un enorme leccio, quota 415 m. Saliamo su roccia e terriccio, seguendo i segni rossi spesso sbiaditi, fino ad un pozzo di raccolta dell'acqua piovana. Teniamo il pozzo sulla destra e saliamo, adesso ripidamente fino ai Cuiles de S'Arcu 'e su Tasaru. Questi sono antichi ovili in legno. Passiamo tra le due costruzioni e andiamo a sinistra, quota 540m. In breve si tocca la massima elevazione della gita e si apre il panorama verso il golfo di Orosei. Si comincia a scendere dolcemente, poi si entra nella parte più “tecnica” della gita. Il panorama diventa sempre più mozzafiato, con da una parte il mare e dall'altra pareti altissime e verticali di roccia. Occorre attenzione per superare le cosiddette Iscal 'e Fustes, ovvero delle scalette in rami di ginepro attaccati alle rocce. Questo splendido lavoro permette di superare tre salti di roccia altrimenti impensabili senza corde. La parte più difficile sta nel passare sulle ripidissime pietraie nei tratti di sentiero tra una scala e l'altra. Presenti funi e tronchi nei punti più esposti. Finita la pietraia il sentiero rimane ripido anche nella prima parte del bosco. La picchiata diventa un comodo sentiero che scende verso il mare che fa capolino tra le foglie. La traccia è evidente ed arriva a una grotta, pare abitata sin dal neolitico. Tenere il sentiero verso sinistra e in breve si è alle scale in legno, di cui la seconda alta 6-7 metri (fare attenzione!) che deposita sugli scogli e da lì in un attimo in spiaggia.
