Nella dottrina Buddhista quello che noi comunemente chiamiamo Tempio in realtà è la Sala delle ordinazioni (dei monaci). Per Tempio infatti si intende tutta l'area (a volte anche molto vasta) che comprende vari edifici, tra cui la sala crematoria, la sala delle ordinazioni stessa, la sala della preghiera, ecc... All'interno di ogni luogo religioso si trovano anche la foto del Re e la bandiera thailandese nel rispetto dei tre precetti su cui si fonda la nazione che sono appunto il Re, la Patria e la Religione.
