To take this picture, standing on the path, I looked upstream, put the focal length at 400, underexposed a little and pressed the shutter.
In development, a bit of crop, a circular gradient filter to lower the brightness of the contour and you're done.

@Basketsam83, la cosa non è drammatica come sembra: sull'isola di Skomer i Puffin nidificano in migliaia di coppie su tutta l'isola. Paradossalmente, una delle colonie più ricche è proprio intorno all'approdo.
L'accesso all'Isola è contingentato, e i visitatori non possono lasciare i percorsi autorizzati. A sinistra e a destra del sentiero il terreno è crivellato dai nidi, e in ogni nido abita una coppia.
Per fare questa foto, in piedi sul sentiero, ho guardato verso monte, messo la focale a 400, sottoesposto un po' e premuto l'otturatore.
