Una delle parti più belle del lavoro che faccio, quando giro il mondo, è avere la possibilità di incontrare personaggi straordinari. Incontrarli, stringergli la mano, ascoltare le loro fantastiche storie e, ovviamente, l'onore di immortalarli in un'immagine che durerà per sempre. Da ormai tanti anni vado in posti lontanissimi. Ma qualche giorno fa, finalmente, sono riuscito a fare una foto che sognavo da tanto tempo. Una foto scattata dove vivo, proprio dietro casa. Igor Vignotto (nella foto) è il Re della Regata Storica di Venezia che ha vinto negli ultimi 17 anni, l'ultima insieme al figlio Mattia. La Regata è una manifestazione che celebra l'antico splendore della Serenissima e che tradizionalmente si svolge la prima domenica di settembre. Igor da piccolo sognava di fare il ciclista, una passione che però si è interrotta subito per motivi logistici. Nella piccola isola dov'era nato e cresciuto, infatti, non c'erano strade asfaltate. L'acqua invece non mancava, e la sua voglia di competere lo hanno portato presto a gareggiare nelle regate (Venezia, Italia - Giugno 2022)
