Scanno ti accoglie con questa vista particolare, un agglomerato di case una attaccata all'altra in un dedalo di vicoli dove ti sembra impossibile penetrarvi, mentre poi scopri metro dopo metro una bellezza unica, la sensazione di trovarti all'interno di un grande presepe. E' la terza volta che lo visito e l'emozione è sempre la stessa. Oltre ad essere uno dei borghi più belli d'Italia, famoso per i suoi costumi tipici femminili, il Comune di Scanno è noto anche per essere stato oggetto di studio tra i fotografi più importanti del XX secolo. Ecco perché il paese in provincia dell'Aquila dai tratti medievali, circondato dai monti del Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo, è conosciuto anche come “città dei fotografi”. La natura che lambisce il borgo, la sua conformazione e le tradizioni conservate nel tempo hanno attratto, nel corso degli anni, moltissimi artisti italiani e stranieri che hanno impresso nelle loro pellicole le donne di Scanno, gli scorci più suggestivi e l'attività quotidiana nel paese. Tra i fotografi dalla fama internazionale che hanno fatto tappa a Scanno c'è il pioniere del foto-giornalismo Henri Cartier-Bresson, la fotografa tedesca Hilde Lotz-Bauer e l'italiano Mario Giacomelli, famoso per i suoi ritratti paesaggistici e per la foto “il bambino di Scanno”, ed in tempi più recenti anche Gianni Berengo Gardin.

As I wrote above, the pdr is quite obligatory for the normal tourist who has no possibility of access to private places and I had to play a little with the focal lengths also to avoid disturbing elements (wires, antennas, etc)
