La località Is Mortorius, lungo la strada litoranea per Villasimius, venne così denominata per la pericolosità della strada per cui carri e cavalcature spesso finivano spesso in mare, o forse perché anticamente (1700-1800) era presente una tonnara. Gli edifici della ex tonnara nel 1936 furono ristrutturati e adibiti a caserma di artiglieria come parte di un sistema difensivo definito "fronte a mare" che articolava anche le batterie di Capo Pula, e Capo S. Elia, disarmata dopo l'armistizio, nell'immediato dopoguerra, gli alloggi ed i servizi furono poi utilizzati come colonia marina, oggi purtroppo è solo un ammasso di ruderi. Comunque è un ottimo posto, a poca distanza da Cagliari, per trovare dei validi spunti fotografici e, per chi è amante della pesca sub, per mettere nel carniere qualche bella preda (ovviamente nei mesi invernali al sorgere del sole e con mare un po' mosso) Buona serata a tutti Gigi
