Salendo lungo le ampie praterie di media montagna che a Giugno ridondano dei più variegati fiori, complice una nebbia sottile che si alzava lentamente, intravedo senza essere visto un branco di cinghiali con una femmina adulta, diversi subadilti e alcuni striati. Il numero elevato offre loro una discreta sicurezza, in quanto è molto probabile che qualcuno sia sempre in guardia rispetto a eventuali predatori, incluso l'uomo. Scivolando nell'erba ho quindi potuto avvicinarli mentre ribaltavano il fertile suolo alla ricerca di tuberi e radici. Per più di un quarto d'ora nessuno si è accorto di me, eccetto questo piccolo che di tanto in tanto mi fiutava nell'aria finché non si è deciso a dare il segnale di allarme mettendo tutti in fuga, la femmina adulta in testa...
