Dopo un appostamento fisso solitamente faccio sempre una piccola camminata per controllare le zone circostanti, stavolta è successo quello che speravo da tanto tempo, incontrare degli esemplari in zone di predazione. Presto sempre particolare attenzione ad ogni passo che faccio, cercando di limitare rumori al massimo; ma c'è una cosa che non potrà mai passare inosservata ad un lupo: l'odore. Stavolta ho potuto avere la fortuna di vederli per primo (lo scatto è avvenuto qualche secondo dopo, quando il terzo lupo mi ha notato nonostante i camuffamenti mimetici), ma purtroppo loro già sapevano che io ero nei paraggi a causa del mio odore, perché ero sopravento. Quando sono insieme i lupi tendenzialmente controllano tutte le zone circostanti, ognuno guarda in una direzione diversa, specialmente se si sentono in pericolo o notano qualcosa di insolito; e la postura del lupo in piedi con la coda tra le gambe sembra confermare questa ipotesi. Successivamente sono sgattaiolati via tra dei pruni, la cosa che mi ha colpito di più è che con nonostante le 12 zampe che calpestavano il terreno, io non ho sentito il minimo rumore; nel muoversi hanno una grazia che lascia veramente sbalordito chi ha la fortuna di incontrarli. Ultimamente sento e vedo sui social vari post di allarmismo, che tendono a demonizzare sempre il lupo, gente che ha paura di andare nei boschi "perché ci sono i lupi"; tutte le paure sono comprensibili, ma vi posso assicurare che hanno più paura loro dell'umano che viceversa; sono anni che viaggio nei loro territori e non c'è mai stata una volta in cui mi sono sentito minacciato dalla loro presenza. Gli animali pericolosi a cui bisogna fare attenzione nei boschi sono i cinghiali e l'uomo(specialmente quello con il fucile, che non presta attenzione) per quanto riguarda la mia esperienza. La demonizzazione del lupo è anche un fattore culturale che difficilmente potrà essere estirpato dalla mentalità umana, l'unica cosa da fare per portare il tutto in una giusta ottica è il fare una corretta sensibilizzazione e, spero di aver fatto capire anche di poco, quanto questo animale possa essere stupendo e di quanto sia importante a livello ecologico.
