Ha dei pro e dei contro come tutte le cose. Diciamo che rispetto alle migliori aps perde circa uno stop in gamma dinamica (2 sulle migliori FF).
Per ovviare a questi limiti fisici del sensore ci sono alcune chicche sui certi modelli tipo LiveND e Hires

Guadagni molto su pesi e ingombri soprattutto per le lenti che sono molto valide e molto compatte. In più, sui modelli di alta gamma, hai una tropicalizzazione che altri sistemi anche più costosi si sognano.

Altro grande vantaggio è la stabilizzazione che ti permette al bisogno di scattare anche la raffica in bkt a mano libera.

Un punto dolente è che parte da iso 200 e che mediamente non si chiude il diaframma oltre F/6.3 max F/7.1 altrimenti rischi la difrazione. Se da un punto di vista è buona cosa perché permette sufficiente PDC con diaframmi aperti e iso bassi, dall'altra nelle LE richiede a volte filtri più densi.
CI sono però dei trucchi software come il LIVE ND che non lavorano male seppur con qualche limite fastidioso. In ogni caso meglio evitare lunghe esposizioni oltre i 20/30" altrimenti comincia il rumore cromatico che diventa fastidioso.

Voci dicono che la prossima O-md sarà calibrata per l'alta risoluzione e la massima QI con un nuovo sensore M43 sony. Se faranno anche il raw a 14 bit e gli iso 100 sarà ottima per il paesaggista. ;-)
