Le querce e i castagni di Richmond Park e altre zone di Londra sono stati scelti come habitat ideale da un numero elevatissimo e sempre crescente di questi pappagallini originari dell'Asia del sud. Si dice che sul finire degli anni '60, Hendrix avrebbe liberato una coppia di parrocchetti a Carnaby Street, e sembra sia a partire da quel periodo che si ha un moltiplicarsi delle colonie di questa specie.
