Il punto di ripresa è alto anche per i miei gusti... Però mi piacciono il momento colto e soprattutto la verde distesa di lenticchie d'acqua in cui la scena è ambientata.

The resume point is too high for my taste ... But I like the time and read especially the green expanse of duckweed in which the scene is set.

Ho scattato questa foto in un ambiente umido che non c'è più: un piccolo stagno nella zona industriale di Catania, ora prosciugato per far posto a una strada, dove si poteva fotografare di tutto, comprese rarità come il Falaropo beccosottile!

Riguardo la preda, ho avuto il responso che aspettavo: è (era...) un girino di Rana verde overwintering, che cioè ha trascorso il primo inverno allo stadio larvale.
Non mi convinceva la lunghezza in proporzione al becco della sgarza: mi è stato spiegato che in questi casi i girini raggiungono spesso dimensioni ragguardevoli dal momento che hanno circa un anno di età a fronte dei circa due-tre mesi che ci vogliono normalmente prima di compiere la metamorfosi. Mi è stato fatto notare che nella foto si vedono abbastanza bene gli abbozzi degli arti.
