Durissimo da fotografare, rarissimo, ottima immagine, da rivista
Protagonista della tradizione popolare, che addirittura gli ha talvolta attribuito il potere di transitare le anime nell'aldilà, il Succiacapre è un uccello notturno. Sono probabilmente dovute a questo, unite a un canto particolarmente penetrante e insistente le leggende sul conto di questo uccello, che per la verità deve il proprio nome italiano ai pastori i quali, vedendolo posato in mezzo al gregge intento a cacciare i numerosi insetti che circondano gli escrementi credevano che succhiasse il latte delle capre.
